Buena Vista Social Club de Cuba

Tonight I went to the Buena Vista Social Club from Cuba. They have been a long time favourite of mine since I saw the film about its founding with Ry Cooder.

I have a good few CDs and manys the night I played their music as I came back from distant parts alone. Sometimes I would play their music when I had an older person on board and the would allways say, "Wow! turn that up, its great"

And it was the best music concert I have ever been to.
Standing on the floor everyone danced for 3 hours or more but when Ouiara Portuondo came on stage the place exploded and fired to a furnace of joy.
This was on the Tuesday of a bank holiday weekend and the house was full.
Are they coming to you?

Don't miss it.

If you want to live go to see them if they do come near.
Look here and I hope the video loads, this old girl was beyond fantastc..
My computer room will be painted very soon and I will show you the latest photos from my life, so be patient.

Goodnight.

May your God go with you.

The line up is different every time

There IS more to life than driving a taxi!

  2. They are wonderful...my husband and I saw them about 10 yrs ago here in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. I grew up in Miami surrounded by Cubans, their music, food and culture and didn't really appreciate it until I moved away...now I really miss it. Thanks for the write up on Buena Vista Social Club...good memories! :-)
